Invisalign vs Clear Correct: What’s the Difference?

Schedule a Dental Consultation

Invisalign is the process of wearing a series of clear, removable aligners that gradually straighten out your teeth. They became a majorly popular alternative to metal braces, having received FDA approval in 1998, and hitting the market heavily in the early 2000’s. Over time, the teeth would straighten out to fit within the existing aligner perfectly, and then a patient would graduate up to the next clear aligner that continued the process until the final expected result was reached.

As with most things in life, iterating on an original idea continues through the years and new concepts become available. Such is the case with Clear Correct; the major difference is the thickness between Invisalign Aligners and Clear Correct aligners.

Clear Correct aligners have a thinner retainer, which helps keep them more inconspicuous than previously possible.

Both treatments are able to address a litany of issues including:

  • Crossbite
  • Overbite
  • Underbite
  • Crowding
  • Gap in Teeth
  • Open Bite
  • Mild misalignment

Clear Correct scans the mouth and then uses a 3D printer to create the models. This more modern technique has replaced many antiquated processes when it comes to establishing the series of aligners needed to complete each patient’s specific goals.

What Causes the Need for Clear Correct of Invisalign Anyway?

Most of the issues that can be treated by Clear Correct are caused by either genetic factors, or by early environmental factors, including prolonged childhood thumb sucking, pacifier, or bottle-use. These things can usually be corrected with a thorough consultation, the right treatment plan, and a dedicated dentist who is always monitoring your progress and making any adjustments necessary.
